In the beginning, Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) was established in Purwokerto, Central Java by Raden Aria Wirjaatmadja with name-en Hulp der Inlandsche Spaarbank Bestuurs Ambtenaren or Help and Savings Bank Owned The Priyayi the nationality Indonesia (native).
